Update from Germany: June 17, 2013
June 17, 2013
Well hello from Bitburg. This first week was great.
Met with a few members, had a couple barbecues... Yes, they are all
American basically, it is a military ward, so really different compared to the
other wards i have been to here in Germany haha. I got to translate
though yesterday, because there are a few Germans that do come to the ward in
Bitburg, so I translated from English to German, wow that was hard...
My new companion is named Elder Holmes, he is
from Brigham City, Utah and has been on the mission since January (in Germany I
mean). He is so cool, excited to learn from him and to work with him here
in Bitburg.
We actually have some new investigators, or rather
potential investigators here, it seems that they know the missionaries since
many years ago, and randomly stopped like six months ago, so we are going to
try to get that going again, and we have a few other potentials, so that is
cool as well, things are picking up it seems.
Anyway, I have little time, so I will write you
all more later, love you all and thankful for the support you all give me.

Update from Germany: June 10, 2013

Yes, I am being transferred, surprise! It was
for me too haha. Normally a trainer and the "trainee" for lack
of a better term, stay for 12 weeks together for this new 12 week program,
however, in this case I guess not haha. No-yeah, it is kind of sad to
have to leave Solingen so soon, but yeah, I guess I should have seen it coming
because of what I studied earlier this week, specifically humility haha. I
wrote down these notes concerning humility (what jumped out to me that day) :
1- Humility will often times require sacrifice.
2- Humility is possessing the attitude (or extent of
the attitude) "I'll go where you want me to go..."
3-Humility can be determined by how we answer the
question "If Christ were to ask me to _______ , would I do it?"
And after praying for the ability to be more humble,
it seems like I guess I "asked" for it haha. funny how that
works.
This week was great though, had two splits, one in
Solingen and one in Wuppertal, which were both fun, although I guess I will be
goign away from all the split world now. I am going to Bitburg (just
realized I forgot to say where haha).
